“Mon amour, ma vie…” is the story of this classy Estufa Fria wedding.
She is beautiful, funny and loving. She was born in France but her Tunisian roots live in her bright almond eyes. He’s easy going, polite, communicative. Son to Portuguese parents, was also born in France, grew up there, met his soulmate. Together, they have a five year old boy, Lenny, who is the perfect representation of their love.
Lucie and David describe each other as being “twins”, the perfect match. They fell in love ten years ago, and in 2019 she said “yes” during their holidays in Berlin. And when the time came to get married, Portugal was the chosen destination. Later that year, it was confirmed that I would photograph their wedding.
When the Covid pandemic hit in March 2020, they patiently waited to see if their set date didn’t have to be altered and we kept a regular line of communication, as it was important to give them updates regarding the situation in Portugal.
Planning from another country
However, the process of organizing a destination wedding from France was everything but easy.
Unable to fly over to take care of some details, they met some bumps in the road and were forced to change venues two days before the wedding. Plus, due to all the flight limitations from and to Portugal, some guests could be unable to attend.
Fortunately, it all went according to plan: they didn’t change the date, all the close friends and family came and it was unforgettable.
And there it happened, on September 13th, an elegant wedding in the majestic gardens of Estufa Fria. Surrounded by the harmonious sound of Portuguese guitars during a Fado performance, they exchanged vows, laughed and cried together when their most important people gave speeches and danced the night away.
Be forever happy!
