Lisbon wedding venues
Beautiful and glorious!
Some of the most stunning wedding locations in Lisbon and surrounding areas.
There’s no specific time for a couple to start organizing a wedding. Some decide to do it right after the proposal; others take a deep breath before jumping right into the world of wedding planning.
Regardless of the situation (planning a destination wedding, a local wedding ou even bringing in the help of professional planners) one thing is certain: searching for the right vendors is a time consuming task.
That said, wedding venues are one of the first things couples look for when planning their wedding.
When should I contact the wedding venue?
The first think you should keep in mind is that some wedding venues are trendy and, therefore, prone to high demand. That usually means some of them already fully booked before the annual wedding season is over. No couple wants to miss out on the opportunity to have the perfect wedding venue. Therefore, contacting venues should be right at the top of your list.
How to choose the wedding venue?
When you start looking for wedding venues, note that the venue has to match your personality, but a number of things must also be considered: the type of ceremony (civil ou religious), the number of guests, the preference for indoor or outdoor spaces, accessibility, the type of ambience you wish, the catering services and the budget.
It’s true every couple wants do provide their guests with a memorable and comfortable experience, but it’s also true you can find stunning wedding venues anywhere in Lisbon (and surrounding areas). There are numerous spaces and the range goes from private properties to gardens. hotels and old manors. The options are astounding.
Here’s a list of some amazing (and also personal favorite) Lisbon area wedding venues:
1. Palácio Marqueses de Fronteira
6. Estufa Fria
1. Palácio Marqueses de Fronteira
Right at the edge of Monsanto Natural Park, there it stands, a XVII century palace. With its lush gardens and pristine tile collection, this palace is one of the most romantic venues I’ve seen.
An absolutely wonderful place to have your wedding with the certainty of providing your guests an exquisite experience.

2. Palácio Correio-Mor
This XVIII century palace was designed by the Italian architect Antonio Canevari and it’s one of the most remarkable wedding venues outside Lisbon. It’s in Loures, a 15 minute drive from the capital. The wedding salon is a robust tent in the middle of the gardens, of French inspiration, with fountains and sculptures.
The inner rooms and hallways of the palace are also majestic and glorious, with azulejos and paintings from Portuguese artists. It’s the perfect blend between Baroque style and contemporary decor, for those who look for a unique wedding venue.
3. Quinta Nova do Hespanhol
Rustic elegance are the words I’d choose to describe Quinta do Hespanhol. Just an hour’s drive from Lisbon, this venue is located in sumptuous valley. The property is absolutely magical, with its yellow buildings and natural surroundings. Public areas include an inner patio, a terrace and well-kept gardens, where civil ceremonies can be held.
The decor is always very elegant and the natural wood tones make it cosy and organic. This is one of the trendiest venues for young couples.
4. Solar de Pancas
Solar de Pancas used to be a manor house and was converted into a wedding venue in recent years. Located in the wine region of Alenquer, this venue is quite unique and can be easily identified because of the ivy covered building. It has several rooms, a chapel and beautiful gardens.

This venue is located in the mysterious and magical historical village of Sintra. This palatial manor was built in the XX century and it evokes the romantic “ambiance” of literary novels.
The venue is divided in several rooms and depending on what the couples want, the dinner party can happen in the Winter Garden or in the adjacent room. Both rooms provide a fantastic view of the National Palace and landscape.

The ceremony can take place outside, next to the artificial lake. It can be thought for a classic or a boho chic wedding. It’s an exclusive venue of Casa do Marquês.

Areias do Seixo is a hotel, but it has it all: the location, the organic touch, the magic. It’s divided into rooms, villas and bungalows. If you decide to get married there, the hotel takes care of everything (catering and decoration), so you won’t have to worry.
The civil ceremonies and receptions usually take place in the Circle of Fire. If you’re planning an elopement, a romantic candlelight dinner for two will be prepared just for you. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this place!
9. Quinta das Torres
South of Lisbon, you can also find a multitude of stunning venues, some of them are palaces or manors, turned into wedding venues or high-class lodgings. That’s the case with Quinta das Torres.
It’s located in Vila Fresca de Azeitão and it’s surrounded by tranquility and privacy. It has a dedicated events space with a transparent marquee, water mirror and romantic gardens for your civil ceremony.
10. Quinta da Serralheira
In close proximity of the national road and A2 highway accesses, this wedding venue is located in the middle of a valley covered with vineyards.
On the horizon, you can see the silhouette of the Palmela Castle and at dusk the sky is painted with rich colors. The space features a lawn for civil ceremonies, a wine and cheese tasting room and the main hall, with large windows and wooden ceiling. Rustic, sophisticated and stylish. It’s a Tempero de Alegria (catering) exclusive venue.
