“You complete me” is the story of this intimate riverside elopement, in Salvaterra de Magos.
In the quiet embrace of nature, nestled by the gentle flow of the Tejo river, a love story unfolded in the most intimate of settings. Only four souls bore witness to this emotional union: the couple, the bride’s brother, and me, the photographer.
They had kissed for the first time in Lisbon, while walking near the Tejo river and after their engagement in Rome, getting married was the next step. The river, a silent witness to their love story, provided the perfect backdrop for their symbolic ceremony—a nod to the journey that brought them together and the life adventures that lay ahead.
The day began at Salvaterra Country House & Spa, a tranquil Bali inspired haven amidst the bustle of the world. As Eliana and Hugo prepared for their momentous occasion, nerves danced alongside excitement, anticipation mounting with each passing minute.
Their first look was a sort of a moment suspended in time, where hearts raced and their anxiety could almost be grabbed. In each other’s eyes, they found peace, reassurance, and an unspoken promise of forever. Embraced in a private world of their own making, they shared a moment that transcended words, a silent exchange of love and devotion.
On the banks of the Tejo river, where the water whispered secrets of time immemorial, they stood hand in hand, ready to embark on a journey of shared dreams.
With the bride’s brother as their celebrant, they exchanged vows, each word a testament to the depth of their love. Emotions ran high as promises were made, hearts laid bare. And as they sealed their vows with a tender kiss, the world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the echo of their love lingering in the air. They truly complete each other!
The wedding cake, of Italian recipe, called torta nupziale, was baked with care by the bride herself. After the delicate layers were cut, we all shared not just a sweet indulgence but a moment of joy and celebration.
As the day drew to a close, bathed in the warm hues of the setting sun, we had a small photoshoot next to the place where they had, a few hours before, celebrated their union.
In the quiet serenity of this riverside elopement, love found its home, a sanctuary where dreams took flight and hearts beat as one. And as they embarked on the road ahead, hand in hand, they carried with them the memories of this sweet day.
I will never forget it either! Thank you!
