They’re two women. This is the story of their day and it’s a love story. Of nothing else but love, cause love chooses nothing except that it happens when it has to.
It was in a hot August day, in the garden of that white house with a blue stripe – typical from Alentejo – that Tatiana and Joana said their “I do’s” forever. I could say they were both nervous, but the truth is that the commotion was a lot bigger on the outside than on the inside of their rooms. Bearing the smiles love give you, I could see all they wanted was the time to come. And it did. And it was beautiful. And it couldn’t have been any different, because it was intimate, shared and even adored.
It’s true all weddings are surrounded by joy and love. This was, however, even more so, maybe because there are still some prejudice and because same sex couples till face some limitations. But above all, on this day, I felt love overcame barriers. On this day, they symbolized that which is most beautiful in the act of love: freedom to do it.
What a privilege it was to be part of this story.
