“August Warmth” is the story of this boho Portuguese wedding at Halma Nature and Sea, a wedding venue in the heart of Serra da Arrábida.

The summer months in Portugal are usually very hot.  Serra da Arrábida’s grove doesn’t lose its color, but the abundant undergrowth in some areas turns golden yellow, providing it with a dreamy atmosphere. Sara and Ricardo chose Halma’s beautiful venue, wrapped in a valley and surrounded by nature to celebrate their union.

She’s heartwarming, gentle and easy going. He’s more reserved, keeps his emotions to himself and has an easy smile.  Sara and Ricardo contacted me a few months before the wedding and booked right away. Later, she told me “even before I was engaged I knew I wanted you to photograph our wedding”. How can one not fall in love with a couple completely, just by hearing that? 

The early afternoon was spent apart getting ready. And as tradition dictates, they only saw each other at the ceremony. He burst into tears when he saw her walking down the aisle and she smiled the whole time. We could all see how nervous and excited they were. After the civil ceremony, Daniela from Amor e Ponto Celebrantes took the lead and celebrated their love in an emotional way. She told their story from the day they met like she was reading a novel. Their union was sealed by reading vows and symbolically planting an olive tree.

This was such a joyous and happy day. Both Sara and Ricardo enjoyed themselves and provided their guests with all the attention they could. Love was all around!
